I started to experiment with my air fryer more lately. In the past I was a little afraid of using it to cook meats because is too small I was afraid of always burning the outside of the meats and having it raw on the inside. The only meat I was cooking in the air fryer was salmon because you can easily see it when is cooked.

for Super Bowl this year I decided to do some research on my air fryer and figure out what worked best for chicken wings since I’m a sucker for hot wings and I wanted to make my own.

I own a Cuisinart Tao60 AirFryer Toaster Oven, one of my friends kept bragging about this particular model so I decided to give it a try. I love that I can use it as an air fryer, toaster, and oven to cook small batches of cookies, cupcakes and salmon.

I only use a few ingredients when air frying the wings so is not a big complicated recipe. For the hot sauce I like to use Hot Buffalo by New Primal because it has zero grams of sugar, is Whole30 approved and it has only 1 carb per serving.

I always place the wings in a mixing bowl and add the seasoning and toss them around to make sure they get fully coated with the seasoning mix.
Place the wings in air fryer basket and them rest while preparing the hot sauce

Hot sauce

In a small pan or pot add the hot sauce and ghee/butter in medium heat and bring it to a boil, lower the temperature to low/medium heat and allow the sauce to reduce for 2 – 3 minutes until it becomes thicker. Remove the sauce from the heat and coat the top of the wings and air fry for 8 minutes, flip over the wings, coat the top of the wings with sauce and cook again for another 8 minutes. Once the wings are cooked for a total of 16 minutes, toss wings in the left over hot sauce and serve.
