Staying at home and practicing social distance can be very hard, we are a social species and we need contact with the outside world. Last night was the first time I could hear a lot of my neighbors out in their patios and balconies chatting along, most of the the we never see or hear anyone in this building.
The world feels a little bit upside down right now with so much happening. Coronavisus has completely change the way we live and now a lot of us are inside our homes either by choice or because we have to, either way here are a few things that have helped me stay sane.
Move your body, you really don’t need any equipment to move your body. Go out for a walk if you can, fresh air helps clear the head and it will make you feel so much better. I found out that Peloton is having a 90 FREE trial! I encourage you to join them, they not only do cycling, they have so many different workouts such as yoga, bootcamp, strength, meditation, etc. (Please note that I’m not affiliated with Peloton but this is a great free trail that can get you moving). Click on the link above to find out more information!
I follow a lot of fitness accounts on Instagram and there are so many wonderful instructors that are teaching free classes on IG that you can do at home or are posting snippets of workouts you can do at home. I’ll link some of my favorites below, some of them will start teaching this week so check out their accounts and get more information from them.
If you’re not able to join their live workouts you can always go back do them later, the live workouts remain in their InstaStories for 24 hours.
I have taking classes in person with Carli, Soha and Kira, their classes are so good and always make you feel great!

When I practice yoga at home I use the following prop: (I’m yoga barre certified so I have a few routines I can work with)
Yoga Blocks
Yoga Strap
Yoga Mat
5 pound weights
Booty Bands
Meditate, meditate, meditate. Many people think that meditation is for people who practice yoga and have been doing it for a long time. The truth is that anyone even if you don’t practice yoga can meditate. You don’t need anything but a quiet place, you can lay down or sit up, close your eyes and breath. That’s it!! Concentrate on your breath and nothing else, meditate for 1 minute, 5 minutes or as much as your body and mind allows you. Breathing will calm your anxiety down, clear your mind of negative thoughts and help you digest all the information you’re seeing on TV or online.
Lastly, if you have a diffuser, USE it. There are so many wonderful essential oils out there that can help you feel better, lower anxiety and even boost your immune system. I personally love Young Living, I have a full page about essential oils and the benefits. Here are some blends I love to diffuse at home that make me feel so much better.
Essential Oil Blends:
To boost immune system: Use this blend through the day

Remember, keep yourself busy! This is a good time start a new hobby or maybe work on a hobby that didn’t have time do work on before. Write, that’s a great way to stay busy even if you’re not a writer. Create a 5 minute journal and write what you’re thankful for, write what you feel at the moment. It will be very interesting to back and read your entries after all this is done.
Take up cooking or baking, I’m continue to add more recipes each day over here to either give you ideas what to cook or maybe you want to try one of my recipes. Cooking helps me relax and not feel so stressed out and cooking is not a complicating hobby, plus we all need to eat right?!
Just remember, be kind to yourself, be kind to one another and pray for one another! this are hard times but nothing lasts forever this as well shall pass!
Take Care!
XO Carol
