Air Fried Breaded Chicken Breast

Fry chicken is such a comfort food, I could eat fry chicken every single day if I could. This super easy recipe is not just delicious but has virtually no oil and is ready to make in less than 25 minutes using an air fryer.

The air fryer I use is a Cuisinart AirFryer Toaster Oven which is absolutely wonderful because it eliminates a few appliances of the countertop for me. I pretty much use this little appliance at least once a day and when I want to make a small batch of muffins I like to use the oven setting to bake. This little appliance is not cheap but it is come down on price since I purchased mine a few years ago. I’m not affiliated to the brand but if you’re looking to buy a good multi-functional appliance this one is great and I highly recommend it.

Going back the recipe :)… the breading for this chicken is what gives it such a great flavor and a little bit of a kick. I’ll give you below a few tips if you want to air fry other chicken parts and not jut the breast.

Tip:
Don’t skip any ingredient as each one of them compliments each other including the cayenne pepper. Even if you don’t like spicy food you can always just lower the amount of pepper.

I like skinless chicken breast but if I’m using this recipe with thighs I like to keep the skin, the flavor the skin on chicken thighs is unique and make the chicken taste better.

Always use spray oil when using your air fryer, it makes it very easy to evenly add the oil to your basket plus the majority of spray oils are zero calories. Also, use a high heat resistant oil such as avocado or grape seed oil.

I always make a large batch of the breading seasoning and save it in a mason jar or airtight container, this makes it so much easier the next time I want to make this recipe. For the purpose of this recipe I’m providing ingredients for two chicken breasts but you can always double or triple the breading ingredients.

Cooking times and temperature:
I cook chicken in my air fryer at 400F
The internal temperature when cooking chicken should be 165F to avoid getting sick, I suggest investing in buying a food thermometer. There are some great ones out there for less than $15 and they’re a great investment. Also, when checking the temperature on any meat including chickens always check it at the thickest section of the meat.

Thick 2 inch chicken breast needs to be cooked 18-20 minutes and flip half way thru
Chicken thighs need to cook for 16-18 minutes flip half way thru
Drumsticks need to cook for 20 minutes and flip half way thru
Wings need to cook for 16-18 minutes and flip half way thru

What you’ll need:

Air Fryer
Measuring spoons
