Turkey Burgers

Summer is just around the corner and with it comes BBQ’s, grilling and indoor griddles if you live in a place where outdoor grilling is not available. I’ve been there done that.

This super easy recipe can be made in less than 20 minutes and it will satisfied you. I honestly have not been a big ground turkey fan because I always comes out very dry but this is my third month getting ground turkey from Butcher Box and is so good. No matter what I make with their ground turkey is very juicy and tastes delicious. If you’re looking for good meat I highly recommend Butcher Box, they have amazing specials for first time subscribers. Head over to my coupons place to read more about it. Now, let’s get back to this delicious recipe.

What you’ll need:

Cast Iron griddle or medium size pan
Medium size mixing bowl
Measuring spoons
Rubber spatula
Knife and cutting board

Grill Turkey

Depending what brand of turkey you use you might need to add a little bit of panko or breadcrumbs if you want it to be easy to make the patties. I personally don’t mind the turkey meat to be a little loose as it makes it a lot juicier the you cook it so for the purpose of this recipe I’m not adding panko or breadcrumbs.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb ground beef

  • 3 tbsp corn

  • 1 to 2 tbsp chopped jalapeños

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp fresh ground pepper

  • 1 tbsp avocado or coconut oil

  • 2 slices of cheese your choice

  • 1/2 avocado sliced thin

  • Two large round tomato slices (optional)

  • 2 large butter lettuce leaves washed

  • 2 burger buns

  • Yellow mustard, Ketchup and Mayo to taste

Directions

  • In your mixing bowl add the turkey, corn, jalapeños, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Using your hands mix everything all together.
  • Add 1 tbsp of avocado or grape seed oil to your griddle and bring it to a warm/hot temperature. While the griddle is warming up start making the patties, I always make them a little larger than the burger bun as they shrink a little. Place the patties on the griddle and cook 5 minutes on each side.
  • While the patties are cooking toast your burger buns and begin assembling your burgers with mayo, mustard, ketchup, lettuce and tomato.
  • Add the cheese on the patties while they’re cooking about one minute before you take it out to melt the cheese a bit. Place the patties on the assembled burger buns.

Notes

  • Condiments are optional, you can substitute condiments very easily, add ranch, thousand island, hummus, pesto, garlic spreads, etc., the sky is the limit

Enjoy!
XO Carol
