Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp cracked black pepper
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 4 chicken leg quarters (approx. 1 lb / 450g each)
- 2 tbsp olive oil spray
- 3/4 cup low-sugar BBQ sauce
Instructions:
- Pat the chicken leg quarters completely dry with paper towels. Lightly spray the skin with olive oil and coat generously with the combined dry rub, ensuring seasoning gets under the skin.
- Place the chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer, skin-side down. Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 15 minutes.
- Flip the quarters so the skin-side is facing up. Cook for another 10–15 minutes until the skin is golden and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Brush a thick layer of low-sugar BBQ sauce over the top. Air fry for a final 2–3 minutes at 400°F (200°C) until the sauce bubbles and charrs. Remove when the internal temperature hits 175°F (80°C).
